Destination: Saratoga
Writers have been describing Saratoga Race Course for nearly a century and a half, but no one has captured the spirit and soul of America’s most famous racetrack better and more succinctly than Red Smith: "The way to Saratoga is easy. Prado At His Peak
Edgar
Prado’s final ascension to the top of his profession began with a deeply
difficult career decision he made in the summer of 1999. That’s when he
abandoned his comfortable life in Maryland for the possibilities only New

They started talking and my friend said I was the assistant track announcer at Arlington Park. There WAS no assistant track announcer at Arlington. ...more
2005 First Growth Bordeaux

I started out with Bordeaux as my premier interest in wine,” Frank Ruota, a horse owner, dog breeder and wine collector in upstate New York, explained. He also worked in the wine and spirits retail business in Schenectady, New York. Ruota fondly reflected on 35 years of his life’s passion, whose early years largely revolved around the iconic first growth of the region’s red wines. “I tasted at least 20 vintages of famed Chateau Lafite Rothschild,” Ruota said of one grand affair. “A lot of them were from the late 1800s, one a 1929. Most were in poor condition by the late 1970s ...more
